Acute Care Lab Technician
The Lab Technician is responsible for performing laboratory tests, analyzing samples, and ensuring the accuracy of medical reports. This role involves working with advanced laboratory equipment, following strict safety protocols, and assisting doctors in diagnosing diseases.
Key Responsibilities:
Sample Collection & Testing:
- Collect and process blood, urine, tissue, and other biological samples.
- Perform laboratory tests such as hematology, microbiology, biochemistry, and pathology.
- Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports for doctors and medical staff.
- Ensure accurate labeling and handling of all collected samples.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, and analyzers.
- Ensure proper storage and disposal of chemicals, reagents, and biological waste.
- Follow safety guidelines and infection control protocols while handling samples.
Quality Control & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, including test results and quality control logs.
- Ensure compliance with hospital, national, and international laboratory standards.
- Assist in internal and external audits to maintain lab accreditation.
Collaboration & Research Support:
- Work closely with doctors, pathologists, and medical staff to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Assist in research studies and clinical trials by preparing and analyzing samples.
